Frances Booth LICSW

I am a clinical social worker with over 40 years experience.

I work work with individuals, couples, and groups.

I train mental health professionals across the globe.

I am an active participant in clinical research studies.

For 10 years I worked at The Healing Garden, a complementary care cancer center. I currently serve on the board.

Early in my career I worked in medical and psychiatric settings.

Emerson Convalescent Home and Arbour Hospital.

I have served as a clinical supervisor for rising clinicians at 

Tufts Medical School, 

Smith College School for Social Work, 

and the William James College.

Since 1982, I have maintained a private practice in Andover, MA.

My Practice

My therapeutic approach integrates contemporary psychology and eastern spirituality.

My theoretical framework is influenced largely by Internal Family Systems, relational, attachment, and intrapsychic paradigms. 

My therapeutic interventions include techniques from the practice areas of somatic experiencing, cognitive behavioral, hypnosis, guided imagery, mindfulness, gestalt, focusing, and stress management.

My Training

My Mind/Body training was at 

The Harvard Mind/Body Clinic, Boston, MA, with Joan Borsenko in 1988.

My yoga and somatic training was at The Kripalu Center, Lenox, MA.

My mindfulness training is with the Insight Meditation Society, Barre, MA.

My academic training was at

Simmons College, School for Social Work and 

Cornell University, Bachelor of Science, Degree with Distinction.
